With a focus on DVD technologies and applications, DVS and its subsidiaries currently develop and market DVD loaders as their primary products for the consumer, commercial, automotive and computer peripherals markets.

In the fall of 2003, DVS announced details of new automotive DVD products and DVD+R/RW recordable loaders, the key component  for the emerging DVD recordable market. These new products form part of our strategy of product diversification, research and development, and expansion into new areas.

New Car DVD Loaders

The DSV-800 series of portable DVD slot loaders was introduced in late 2003 and consists of three models, the DSV-810, DSV-811, and DSV-813, These products are targeted at the automotive, home, and portable DVD player markets.

The new DSV-800 series car DVD loaders are used in the new series of portable and automotive player products and sport a new slim design, and a full feature set. These products also include proprietary technology that improves overall performance and error resiliency.

The DSV-800 loader series are ideal for OEM suppliers of car DVD players, and any other application that requires a small footprint, vertical mounting, or easy to use slot loading.

New Car DVD Players

Player products include portable as well as in-dash DVD players and DVD receivers.

The VXM-3000 is a full-featured portable DVD player that is designed for use in the home or in vehicles. The VXM-3000 can be locked into a roof mounted docking station that provides power and connections to the vehicle's sound system.

The system has a 10.2" wide format LCD screen and can also support MP3 and WMA playback. Shipments of the VXM-3000 started in July 2004.

Some of the advanced features of the DVS line of automotive DVD units, depending on the model, include flexible mounting at any angle, superior shock resistance and patented error correction, multiple media capability (8 cm as well as the standard 12 cm discs), ability to read the full range of DVD, CD, and MP3 formats, slot-in loading, and support for several types of input/output connections.

The multi-use DVD model VXM-2200 features a super-slim silhouette due to its slot-in type loader, and can be installed in either vertical or horizontal mountings in a car interior or at home.

Production of the VXM-2000 series of portable players was initiated in 2003, and the VXM-2200 is the latest model in that series to be launched.

DVD+R/RW Loader

DVSK's new DRL-100 Recordable ATAPI DVD+RW loader incorporates proprietary DVS technology and is designed to offer highly accurate recording of digital media, with low acoustic noise, superior resistance to shock, and patented error correction capabilities. This new DVD+RW loader will be used as the key system component by a wide range of recorder/player suppliers.

DVS began shipping its Model DRL 100 DVD+RW (rewritable) loader product, the primary component for DVD+RW recorder/players in September 2003.
